Emergency Visit
Prompt Relief for Tooth Pain, Swelling, or Infection
At MetroWest Endodontics, we understand that dental emergencies don’t always happen at convenient times. Sudden tooth pain, swelling, or injury can be distressing — and may require urgent attention. That’s why we prioritize emergency visits and do our best to see patients experiencing acute dental discomfort as quickly as possible — often on the same day we’re contacted.
Common Endodontic Emergencies We Treat:
-
Severe toothache or lingering pain
-
Swelling of the gums, face, or jaw
-
Trauma to a tooth (e.g., chips, cracks, dislodgment)
-
Infection or abscess near a tooth
-
Sensitivity to heat, cold, or pressure that won’t go away
What to Expect During Your Emergency Visit
Your visit will begin with a consultation and diagnostic evaluation, including X-rays if needed. Our endodontist will assess the condition of the tooth and surrounding tissue to determine the source of the pain and the best course of treatment.
Depending on the diagnosis, we may:
-
Start root canal therapy the same day if time and condition permit
-
Prescribe antibiotics or medication to reduce infection and swelling
-
Schedule a follow-up appointment to complete treatment under more controlled conditions
We always aim to alleviate pain quickly and prevent further complications, while delivering care that aligns with your long-term oral health needs.
